Ocean Island Inn | Backpackers | Suites is seeking an IT Professional for casual and ongoing work.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Manage and improve our network of 12 workstations on a Windows Homegroup, Windows server, firewalls and various ancillary equipment such as modems, routers, switches, printers, payment processors, etc.
  • Manage our 24 security camera system, central DVR and cloud based dashboard.
  • Support staff who are working remotely.
  • Review and improve documentation.
  • Purchase, setup and configure various hardware and software components.

QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES

  • Must currently live in Victoria, BC
  • The ability to work independently and liaise with managers and users
  • Experience with a range of wifi equipment such as modems, routers, switches, access points/repeaters and meshed systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise and keep our systems up and running efficiently.

JOB DETAILS

  • Part-time casual and ongoing
  • Work times are flexible, depending on your schedule and what urgent situations arise.
  • On call, though emergency situations are rare.
