Position Overview

Santec Canada is looking to add a Support Engineer to the team. Reporting to the Senior Application Engineer, the purpose of this position is to provide technical support to Santec customers worldwide from the Santec Canada headquarters. The Support Engineer serves as a key point of contact for customer inquiries, troubleshooting, product applications, and technical training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, friendly, and customer-focused technical support through email, telephone, and teleconference.
  • Assist customers with product applications, troubleshooting, and technical problem resolution.
  • Document customer complaints and maintain quality records and case documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Gather customer feedback and application requirements and communicate relevant information to the PLM group to support product and software development.
  • Deliver training to employees and customers on Santec products, specifications, troubleshooting techniques, and the proper use of fiber optic equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and product performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and support activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Photonics, Electronics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of fiberoptics, operating systems, electronic hardware and diagnostics
  • Experience in a customer support, technical support, applications engineering, or customer service role.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to customers with varying levels of expertise.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer inquiries and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
