Full job description

Arcavia (Orillia) LTC LP, a 160-bed long-term care home, is an exciting new project that will be dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents in partnership with UniversalCare Canada Inc., our family members, valued employees and community partners. Residents will be admitted in the Fall of 2026.

Our team is currently hiring for a new vacancy, a permanent full-time Personal Support Worker.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:-Supports with the implementation/maintenance of quality risk management activities, conducts audits.
-Assists residents in the activities of daily living as per the residents’ individual plan of care.
-Completes all documentation related to nursing and maintains accurate records, as required.
-Assists in maintaining and cleaning nursing equipment and reports equipment concerns.
-Changes linen, makes beds, sorts/bags soiled linen and stocks linen cart with clean supplies.
-Assists with meal service, ensuring the individual nutritional needs of all residents are met.
-Follows the plan of care, observes and reports any substantial findings and/or changes in a resident's behaviour, physical condition, and/or food/fluid intake.
-Sorts and organizes personal clothing of residents upon delivery, places in drawers/closets.
-Assists with resident admittances, transfers, departures, and deaths.
-Assists with critical incidents, investigations and appropriate follow-up to resolve any concerns.
-Provides nursing rehabilitation and restorative care services, as directed.
-Monitors skin integrity and applies topographical treatments, as directed by registered staff.
-Ensures compliance with organizational standards and all relevant regulations, and/or legislative requirements and strategic initiatives.
-Participates as a member for assigned committees, attends meetings and educational sessions.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
-A certificate in a Personal Support Worker program from an approved College or institution.
-Knowledge of Personal Support Worker best practices and procedures.
-Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow instructions in English.
-Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when assisting residents, family members and visitors.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong relationship building abilities.
-Proficiency with computerized documentation systems.
-Satisfactory vulnerable sector check and TB test.
