The opportunity:
Known internally as Support Service Attendant, we have 1 new opportunity for a Part-Time Personal Support Worker in our South Central region - Haldimand, ON.
- Schedule: Includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Starting wage: $23.11 per hour. This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.
- Hours: 15-25 hours per week.
- Assist service users/clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:
- Personal care
- Lifts and Transfers
- Rising/retiring
- Bowel and bladder procedures
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Range of motion exercises
- Other light housekeeping duties
- Perform duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.
- Provide support to seniors in their homes, shifts will require travel across multiple locations. Mileage kilometres are reimbursed.
- Drivers license and reliable transportation required
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver considered an asset but not required
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care
- Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire
- Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
