Company Overview
Closer Conveyancing is a dynamic team born in London, Ontario, comprised of law and tech professionals dedicated to enhancing the property closing experience. Our mission is to streamline the property conveyancing process for lawyers and clerks, ensuring it is optimized for today’s needs and future innovations. We pride ourselves on our values of trust, integrity, and delivering a world-class product.
About the Role
Are you a Real Estate Law Clerk or Paralegal looking to transition into legal tech? We’d love to hear from you!
We are seeking an Onboarding Specialist & Product Expert to join our Client Onboarding team in Alberta. Reporting to the Manager, Client Onboarding, you will lead virtual and in-person training sessions, guide new clients through onboarding, and support their success throughout their first 8 files.
This role combines real estate law expertise, client onboarding, account management, and product expertise. In addition to supporting new clients, you’ll become a key internal resource for product and technology-related questions, helping other Onboarding Specialists and team members better understand and navigate the software.
You’ll collaborate closely with Account Executives, Business Development, and other internal teams to deliver tailored training experiences, drive product adoption, identify opportunities for improvement, and build strong client relationships.
This is an opportunity to take your experience in property transactions and apply it in a more consultative, technology-focused role, working with the software that supports real estate law practices rather than within a firm itself. If you’ve worked on real estate files and used conveyancing software, your experience will translate directly into this tech-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
Training & Onboarding
- Develop and deliver engaging training for new clients, both virtually and in person, tailored to their specific needs and workflows.
- Facilitate one-on-one training sessions to enhance client adoption, confidence, and retention.
- Guide clients through their first 8 files, helping them successfully adopt the platform and integrate it into their day-to-day workflows.
- Collaborate with Account Executives throughout the onboarding process to ensure a streamlined and effective client experience.
- Support the creation and maintenance of comprehensive training materials, including presentations and other resources.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance training skills, product knowledge, and industry expertise.
Product & Technology Expertise
- Act as a product expert and internal point person for technology and software-related questions within the Client Onboarding team.
- Support other Onboarding Specialists and internal team members with questions related to product functionality, workflows, and best practices.
- Develop a strong understanding of the product, including new features, functionality, and technical workflows.
- Help identify and communicate opportunities to improve the client and user experience.
- Stay current on product updates and proactively share relevant knowledge with the onboarding team.
- Provide feedback to internal teams based on client questions, challenges, and recurring product issues.
- Work closely with the Development Team to report in-app issues, client feedback, feature requests, and other product-related concerns.
Account Management
- Develop and nurture relationships with new clients to promote retention and long-term product adoption.
- Follow up with clients throughout their onboarding journey and help overcome obstacles to successfully completing their first 8 files.
- Support a portfolio of lower-volume Ontario firms as part of the broader Client Onboarding team.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to align onboarding and training initiatives with client and business objectives.
Performance Tracking
- Monitor client progress throughout the onboarding journey and provide actionable feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Track client adoption, training effectiveness, and progress toward successfully completing their first 8 files.
- Analyze client feedback and onboarding outcomes to identify opportunities to improve training approaches and product adoption.
- Report on onboarding activities, client progress, and outcomes.
General
- Attend bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with your direct leader to discuss progress, challenges, and strategy alignment.
- Participate in company-wide meetings, training sessions, in-person team meetings, development sessions, and daily team standups.
- Travel approximately 25% of the time, primarily for onsite client training, with some travel to Ontario for company events and team activities.
What You’ll Bring
- 2–5 years of residential real estate conveyancing experience in a law firm environment, ideally as a Law Clerk or Paralegal.
- Strong understanding of the full real estate transaction lifecycle, from intake through closing and funding.
- Hands-on experience using conveyancing and legal technology platforms such as Closer, LDD, GoVayance, Teraview, or similar software.
- Strong technical aptitude and confidence working with technology. You enjoy learning how software works and are comfortable troubleshooting and navigating new systems.
- A genuine interest in legal technology and software, with the ability to become a product expert and support others in using technology effectively.
- Ability to learn new software quickly and explain technical concepts and workflows clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
- Experience with SaaS platforms, software onboarding, product training, customer success, or technology support is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple clients and files in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to guide users through software and workflows confidently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues, identify potential solutions, and know when to escalate technical questions.
- Comfortable adapting to evolving product features and processes.
- Experience creating training materials, presentations, or other educational resources is considered an asset.
What Makes This Role Different?
This is more than a traditional product onboarding role. We’re looking for someone who can combine their real estate law expertise with strong technical aptitude and become a go-to resource for both clients and the internal onboarding team. It’s important that you’re comfortable with technology, curious about how software works, quick to learn new systems, and confident in helping others navigate and understand technology.
This is a newly created role supporting an existing team.
Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000 CAD
