Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our team in Vancouver Island, BC. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality in-home care that aligns with our commitment to client-centered service. Your contributions will directly impact the well-being of our clients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities for clients in their homes.
- Support clients with mobility and physical tasks, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions.
- Assist with meal preparation and dietary needs tailored to individual preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients through light housekeeping duties.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health status.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Health Care Aide or similar role in home or community care settings.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.
- Certification or training in caregiving or related fields is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse populations.
- Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting or transferring clients as needed.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
