About the job

We are seeking a creative full-time Social Media & Community Manager on our Marketing team that will be the voice of Preston Hardware across all social media platforms. Reporting to the management and collaborating closely with the Marketing & E-Commerce team. The Social Media & Community Manager will lead and manage all organic social channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), including creating daily content, working with influencers, vendor brands, in-store sales team, and engaging with the online communities to grow following and build brand loyalty.

This role also provides tracking and reporting on initiatives, makes recommendations on how to best optimize our social media initiatives and works closely with our customer service team for any customer issue resolution. As a Social Media & Community Manager, you have a passion for producing high quality work and creating exceptional customer experiences by driving innovative social media marketing strategies, engaging content and building the Preston Hardware community.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Propose and generate social media strategy and plans that meet defined business goals in order to drive traffic, revenue and brand health.
  • Create content, including videos, reels and photoshoots and maintain authentic and engaging organic content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other social channels..
  • Work closely with the Marketing/E-Commerce team to ensure that content aligns to the overall marketing strategy and promotional calendar.
  • Monitor social media performance and make recommendations to amplify posts with paid advertising to targeted audiences.
  • Oversee community management across all channels, including engaging with our audience and responding to questions, comments, reviews and other opportunities.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of all social media assets and ensure that they are functioning and on time.
  • Build relationships with key influencers, community members, and brand partners to increase awareness and engagement, and drive revenue.
  • Create reports and analyze results, drawing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • University degree or College Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Social Media, Graphic Design, Video Production or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in digital marketing for a retail brand or ecommerce startup.
  • Strong understanding of the strategic role of content marketing and how it supports business objectives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to develop meaningful content that engages and tells the brand/product story.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current online content marketing concepts, strategy and best practices.
  • Proficient in and able to produce and edit creative assets, utilizing design and video software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Canva, TikTok.
  • Comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics, and using data to drive actionable insights
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with flexibility to adapt quickly to meet the needs of the business
  • Customer service oriented and able to balance the needs of the community with the needs of the business.
  • Demonstrates a creative mindset, proposing initiatives or unique approaches toward improvements
  • Works efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts.
