Why Work for the Toronto Foundation for Student Success:

You'll be part of a team dedicated to helping children and youth overcome barriers to learning so they can thrive at school. Working alongside school communities, partners, governments, donors, and volunteers, we provide programs that help improve students' health, well-being, and opportunities for success.

The Opportunity

Do you like meeting people, building connections, and turning great conversations into opportunities? If so, we’d love to hear from you. As our Development Manager, you’ll open doors and bring new funding onboard. If you’re curious, confident, persuasive, and energized by the opportunity to make the ask, you’ll thrive in this role. What You’ll Do:

· Build new relationships and grow revenue. Identify, cultivate, and secure new donors, corporate partners, and other sources of support, turning prospects into meaningful relationships, and relationships into funding opportunities.

· Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, building strong, long-term relationships.

· Lead donor meetings, presentations, site visits and other opportunities to connect people directly to TFSS’s impact.

· Deliver compelling fundraising materials including proposals, reports and presentations, working closely with the Communications team.

· Implement donor engagement and stewardship plans that maintain, sustain, and increase donations.

· Stay informed about emerging fundraising trends and strategies and implement as appropriate.

· Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

· Persuasive and confident, with the ability to engage donors, sponsors, and senior stakeholders, and communicate a compelling case for support.

· Proactive and entrepreneurial, always looking for the next opportunity, opening, or connection.

· Results-oriented, with a track record of securing funding.

· Exceptional oral and writing skills, and the ability to convey information persuasively though conversations, proposals, and presentations.

· Able to work effectively across teams; a team player.

· Self-directed and organized, able to manage multiple relationships, projects, and deadlines while working independently.

· Comfortable with fundraising tools and systems; experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT is a strong asset.

Education and Requirements:

· University degree or college diploma in fundraising, communications, marketing, business, or a related field.

· Minimum of five years direct experience working in a fundraising/development role (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

· A valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
