ABOUT US

Since opening our first Nook in Vancouver’s West End in 2009, we’ve been dedicated to creating a space where locals can come together over a shared love of food and drink. We pride ourselves on sourcing the freshest local ingredients, supporting our farmer friends, and importing exceptional products from Italy. At Nook, we serve our best in every dish—antipasto, housemade pasta and pizza—and pour great wine from small, passionate vineyards.

ROLE SUMMARY

As a Line Cook at Nook, you’ll be an essential part of delivering the quality, consistency, and care that define our food and guest experience. Working alongside a passionate kitchen team, you’ll prepare and execute dishes with precision, pride, and attention to detail. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen and shares a passion for great food, collaboration, and authentic Italian cooking.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and execute menu items, with working knowledge of cooking and finishing pasta dishes, to our quality, presentation, and timing standards.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and efficiency at your assigned station.
  • Follow recipes, prep lists, and portion standards consistently.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with chefs and fellow team members during service.
  • Maintain professionalism and focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Support prep, station setup, and breakdown as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and respectful kitchen culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Line Cook in a busy, full-service restaurant.
  • Current FOODSAFE Level I certification.
  • Solid understanding of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Strong attention to detail and a team-first mindset.
  • Passionate about food, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Flexibility to work full-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation to commute to and from the restaurant.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application.

WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?

  • Career Growth: Opportunities to advance within our expanding company.
  • Perks: Employee dining discounts.
  • Mentorship & Development: Guidance from industry professionals.
  • Supportive Team Culture: Be part of a passionate, collaborative team.
