Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Guard to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and security of our facilities. This vital role combines routine cleaning duties with vigilant security responsibilities to maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for staff and visitors alike. The Janitor/Guard will play a key part in upholding our standards of cleanliness and safety, creating a positive atmosphere that supports productivity and peace of mind.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
• Conduct regular commercial cleaning tasks to uphold hygiene standards across the facility
• Monitor security systems such as CCTV cameras and alarm systems to detect any suspicious activity or safety hazards
• Patrol the property and buildings regularly to ensure doors are secured, windows are locked, and no unauthorized access is taking place
• Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs or reporting repair needs to the appropriate team
• Welcome visitors, verify credentials, and control access points to maintain a secure environment
• Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, coordinating with emergency responders as needed
• Report on systems monitored and activity observed during shift
• Shovelling snow and salting ice in walkways and emergency exits (winter months)
• Ensuring outdoor food furnaces are maintained (winter months)

Requirements

• Proven experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
• Good communication skills for interacting with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel
• Knowledge of basic security procedures and familiarity with CCTV systems is a plus
• Reliable and punctual with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Must be able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must have a clean criminal record
• Must have reliable transportation to Scoudouc, NB
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
