What you’ll be doing
As an Analyst, Business Management, you’ll be supporting the Equity Research Department, you will play a vital role in facilitating business operations, supporting research initiatives, and driving process improvements. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking to build a career in capital markets and the financial industry.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $68,000 to $80,000 .
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How you’ll succeed

Business Operations & Process Management - Execute daily business management activities to support the Equity Research Department, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to best practices. Support process optimization initiatives and contribute to the implementation of process improvements across the team. Coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Data Management & Reporting - Participate in data analysis, management reporting, and research-related projects to inform business decisions. Manage the Analysts subscriptions and publications databases, and follow up regarding service renewals and assist in the preparation of quarterly expense analysis report. Assist in the development of business performance presentations for senior management.

Compliance & Regulatory Support - Maintain databases for pre-approvals of travel and subsequent expenses, and ensure records are audit-ready. Coordinate the completion of quarterly and annual attestations, quarterly site-visit reports ensuring compliance with business and regulatory requirements. Support the approval process for client entitlement access to CIBC Research.

Collaboration & Project Support - Collaborate with business and technology teams on AI-related projects for the authoring system and financial databases, including gathering business requirements and supporting design, testing, and implementation. Foster effective communication and collaboration with team members and cross-functional partners throughout the Capital Markets.
Who you are

You can demonstrate experience. You have completed at least two summer internships or co-op work terms in capital markets or the financial industry, and an interest in equity research.

You have a degree. In Business, Commerce, and/or equivalent field.

You're digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends. You are proficient with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Power BI, Outlook) and Python to analyze data and create impactful presentations. Education and experience in machine learning and AI are considered assets.
