Full job description

DJM is hiring experienced heritage restoration trades including carpenters, masons, and painters with a minimum of 5 years' of North American experience to work on the interiors & exteriors of some of the most prestigious historic buildings in the GTA. We offer 3 weeks vacation to start plus 3 additional sick days, and a workplace that is understanding and accommodating of personal and family obligations.

Duties can include:

  • Painting
  • Caulking
  • Wood restoration (windows, doors, siding, etc) & general carpentry (framing, trim, etc)
  • Metal restoration (windows, railings, etc)
  • Masonry restoration (brick, stone, repointing, repairs, cleaning, etc)
  • Demolition etc
  • A general overall flexibility to be involved in multiple aspects of heritage restoration is very beneficial.

Most days are on site in a team environment and occasionally working solo is required. Communication is extremely important with daily site reports and frequent updates mandatory.

We're currently working on exciting heritage projects mostly in Toronto but throughout the GTA including: national historic sites, universities, private schools, private clubs, churches, heritage homes, government buildings and others.

A willingness to adapt and help out and be part of a team in a small business is a crucial factor for success.

** A driver's licence, reliable transportation and basic tools are mandatory.

** Ability to stay overnight / out of town is also beneficial.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
