About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a confidential client, a well-established and respected organization based in Barbados.
Our client operates within the insurance and financial services industry, delivering specialized solutions to an international customer base. Known for its strong governance, regulatory excellence, and operational discipline, the organization is continuing to grow and is looking for an experienced executive to help lead the business through its next stage of success.
Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join its executive leadership team. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the COO will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the organization while driving operational performance, regulatory compliance, client experience, and strategic execution across the business.
This is a key executive leadership position that will play an integral role in turning strategic priorities into operational results, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring the organization is well-positioned for continued growth and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficient and effective execution across all business functions.
- Translate strategic priorities into operational plans that support sustainable growth and organizational performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, controls, reporting, and overall efficiency.
- Develop and implement initiatives that support scalability while maintaining high service standards.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary operational contact for key clients and business partners.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships through responsive service and trusted leadership.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives and client satisfaction.
Leadership & People Management
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven culture.
- Provide leadership and guidance to managers while supporting employee development and succession planning.
Regulatory Compliance & Corporate Governance
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, statutory filings, external audits, and compliance initiatives.
- Support Board governance by coordinating meeting materials, approvals, and governance processes.
- Work closely with internal and external advisors to ensure strong corporate governance standards are maintained.
Qualifications
- Executive leadership experience in insurance, financial services, banking, or another regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of operational management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizational growth and operational improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to build relationships with clients, regulators, Board members, and other senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with offshore or international financial services organizations is considered an asset.
Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary: $250,000+ (commensurate with experience)
