As a pilot flying for Great North Airlines, the DASH 8-100/300 Captain is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft while providing customer service and giving on-time performance due consideration. The DASH 8-100/300 Captain supervises other crew members and has primary responsibility for the flight. The DASH 8-100/300 Captain reports to the Chief Pilot.

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Company aircraft
  • Ensure all pre-flight, inflight and post-flight duties are completed safely consistent with published Transport Canada regulations and standards as well as Company policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all crew members perform their flight duties consistent with published Transport Canada regulations and standards as well as Company policies and procedures
  • Any other responsibilities and duties assigned by the Chief Pilot
  • 3,000 hours Total Time
  • 500 hours propeller time
  • Must hold Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)
  • Must hold Transport Canada Category I Medical Certificate
  • Able to obtain Transport Canada Security Clearance
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Able to operate Company aircraft domestically, trans-border and internationally without restriction
  • Aviation diploma/degree an asset
  • Must be fluent in English language
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Flexible and willing to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
