About the Role
The Building Union of Canada is seeking highly experienced Cement Finishers with strong general labouring skills for opportunities across Ontario. Candidates must have extensive hands-on experience in concrete placing, levelling, smoothing and finishing. They must also be able to perform physically demanding labour duties, including site preparation, forming, material handling and cleanup.

We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who take pride in their work, work well as part of a team, and are willing to assist with all aspects of concrete construction.

Responsibilities

  • Place, level, screed, float and finish concrete slabs, walls and flatwork
  • Assist with forming, stripping and site preparation
  • Handle and move materials, tools and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow all site safety procedures and direction from foremen

Requirements

  • Proven cement finishing experience
  • Strong general labouring skills
  • Working at Heights and WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • CSA-approved safety boots and PPE
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation (preferred)
  • Able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
