Day-of Wedding & Event Coordinator

Reports to: VP of Sales & Marketing
Type of Role: Independent Contractor

Rate: up to $30/hour (depending on experience)

Edge Catering is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-driven Day-of Wedding & Event Coordinator to join our team. This is a unique role that bridges event planning and catering operations. Working closely with our Sales Team, Event Logistics Team, clients, planners, and Event Supervisors, you will act as an extra set of eyes and ears on event day—ensuring every detail is executed flawlessly and the client’s vision comes to life.

About the Role

The Wedding & Event Day-of Coordinator attends events on behalf of Edge Catering, arriving fully briefed after a pre-event phone call or meeting with the Sales Team. You will view each event through both a planner’s lens and a catering lens—ensuring timing, presentation, guest experience, and flow are seamless from load-in through load-out. This is a highly proactive, detail-driven role focused on execution, oversight, and guest experience excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend events from load-in to load-out as Edge Catering’s on-site representative
  • Participate in pre-event briefings with Sales to understand vision, priorities, and timelines
  • Review event documents including floorplans, timelines, and client notes
  • Monitor setup and execution to ensure alignment with expectations
  • Identify and resolve potential issues proactively
  • Liaise with catering teams, planners, venues, and vendors as needed
  • Ensure presentation, timing, and guest-facing details meet Edge standards
  • Support Event Supervisors with coordination and communication
  • Provide post-event feedback and observations

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years in high-end wedding or event coordination/planning
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong situational awareness
  • Calm under pressure and solution-focused
  • Strong communication skills with clients and vendors
  • Highly organized and able to manage shifting priorities
  • Deep understanding of guest experience and event flow
  • Polished, professional presence

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in event coordination or hospitality
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation an asset
