Job Summary

We are seeking a collaborative Physician Assistant (PA) to join our primary care practice for 2 days per week (14–16 hours total). Operating under medical delegation from a supportive family physician, you will act as a key extension of our medical team—evaluating patients, formulating management plans, and providing comprehensive care to an established family practice.

This role offers predictable hours and structured physician collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Hourly Rate: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
  • Annual FHT Benefit Allocation: Fully funded by the Hamilton FHT, flexible between a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) and/or RRSP contributions (accessible after 3 months).
  • On-site Parking

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, physical exams, and health histories under physician delegation.
  • Work closely with the supervising physician to review complex cases and streamline patient flow.
  • Formulate diagnostic and treatment plans, order/review laboratory and diagnostic imaging, and manage acute and chronic conditions.
  • Perform clinical procedures and prescribe medications in accordance with delegated medical acts and practice directives.
  • Maintain timely EMR records (Telus Practice Solutions) and complete daily charting within your shift hours.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Canadian Physician Assistant program (or US ARC-PA equivalent).
  • Certified (or eligible for certification) through the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) as a CCPA.
  • Active member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
  • Primary care experience preferred (new graduates with strong clinical rotation backgrounds welcomed).
  • Familiarity with Telus Practice Solutions (PS Suite) is an asset.
  • Current CPR/BCLS certification and adequate CMPA / PA liability coverage

Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14.0 – 16.0 per week

Work Location: In person
