The Opportunity

Kēlo Cannabis is opening a new location at The Lougheed Mall in Burnaby, and we're looking for passionate, friendly and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Retail Guides (Budtenders).

If you enjoy connecting with people, learning about cannabis and helping customers find products that suit their needs, we'd love to meet you.

Location: Kēlo Cannabis – The Lougheed Mall, Burnaby, BC (with skytrain access)
Job Type: Full-time/Part-time
Anticipated Start Date: Early November 2026, depending on store opening schedule
Expected Schedule: Approximately 2–5 shifts per week per team member, with opportunities for additional shifts based on availability and business needs.
Availability: Evening and weekend availability is required
Compensation: $18.25/hour + tips and commission

What You'll Do

As a Kēlo Retail Guide, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming, knowledgeable and positive experience for every customer.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Providing knowledgeable guidance on cannabis products, cannabinoids, terpenes and consumption methods
  • Making personalized product recommendations based on customers' needs and preferences
  • Verifying identification and following all age-verification requirements
  • Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Following Kēlo policies and all applicable cannabis retail regulations
  • Staying up to date on products, promotions and cannabis industry knowledge
  • Assisting with receiving, inventory counts, restocking and product organization
  • Maintaining store cleanliness, merchandising and overall presentation
  • Completing opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Assisting with customer deliveries using a company vehicle, when required
  • Supporting your teammates and contributing to a positive store environment

What We're Looking For

We're looking for people who are reliable, approachable and genuinely interested in providing great customer experiences.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly, professional and customer-focused attitude
  • An interest in cannabis products and education
  • Previous retail or customer service experience
  • Previous cannabis retail experience is an asset
  • The ability and willingness to continuously learn about cannabis products
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and pick up additional shifts when available

Requirements

  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Must have or obtain Selling It Right certification before the first day of work
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Evening and weekend availability is required
  • Valid BC driver's licence and willingness to make deliveries using a company vehicle, as required
  • Ability to work in person at our Burnaby location
