How you create impact

The Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist – eManifest plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely creation and validation of shipping documents with CBSA. This position is central to resolving clearance issues and coordinating with ocean and rail carriers, terminals, and customs brokers to keep shipments moving smoothly. The role requires strong operational execution and a commitment to delivering efficient, high‑quality service within the Operational Care Centre (OCC).


  • Accurately complete data entry for all Canadian customs filings and manage e‑manifest submissions within the Descartes platform.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve documentation issues related to e‑manifests, working closely with Overseas offices, CBSA, SSLs, GSC, and Descartes support, while also assisting the Broker Handover and Operations teams with customs clearance challenges.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by partnering with the process and systems team to streamline workflows and reduce waste.
  • Leverage KPI dashboards to monitor service quality, analyze performance trends, and support informed operational decision‑making.
  • Maintain full compliance with the Code of Conduct and actively participate in required training programs to ensure ongoing skill development.

What we would like you to bring

  • 1+ years of experience in Customs, freight forwarding, or supply chain management, ideally with exposure to Sea Logistics.
  • Proficieny in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, with the ability to identify issues, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Proactive problem-solver who is comfortable raising concerns, investigating discrepancies, and taking ownership of resolutions.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to navigate changing priorities and system disruptions while maintaining operational performance.
  • Experience with e-Manifest systems is an asset.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
