Full job description

Calgary is one of Canada's fastest growing and most diverse cities. Its mental health services have not kept pace. Help us close that gap.

CPC Clinics was founded by two immigrants who built careers, credentials, and a company in Canada, and who know firsthand the psychological weight of migration, cultural adjustment, and identity renegotiation. We are hiring a clinician to lead our culturally responsive and affirming care services: immigration and cultural adjustment support, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, and identity focused work.

About CPC Clinics

CPC Clinics is a Calgary multidisciplinary practice delivering counselling, assessment, rTMS neurostimulation, and structured wellness programs under one roof, committed to inclusive, evidence based, client centred care.

The Role

You will work with newcomers, immigrants, and internationally trained professionals navigating cultural adjustment, family separation, credential and career transition stress, and intergenerational tension. You will provide affirming care for LGBTQ+ clients across identity development, coming out, family dynamics, and minority stress. You will support clients in identity crisis and major life transition, wherever it originates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally responsive, evidence based therapy for immigration and settlement related psychological presentations
  • Deliver affirming care for LGBTQ+ clients grounded in current best practice and minority stress frameworks
  • Support clients through identity crisis, values conflict, and major life transitions
  • Navigate family and intergenerational dynamics with cultural humility and clinical skill
  • Collaborate with community organizations and referral partners serving newcomer and LGBTQ+ communities
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with applicable Alberta regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling from an accredited institution
  • Registered Psychologist, Registered Provisional Psychologist, or Registered Clinical Social Worker in good standing with the applicable Alberta regulator
  • Demonstrated experience with newcomer, immigrant, or culturally diverse populations
  • Demonstrated affirming practice with LGBTQ+ clients

Assets

  • Fluency in a second language relevant to Calgary's newcomer communities
  • Lived experience informing your clinical work, shared at your discretion
  • Training in acculturation, minority stress, or identity development frameworks
  • Experience with virtual service delivery, given the reach of this practice area beyond Calgary

What We Offer

  • A founding role in a named service line, in a practice led by founders who understand this work personally
  • Our own purpose built clinic with six sound proofed therapy rooms, the next stage of an established and growing practice, from October 2026
  • Room to diversify: practitioners at CPC can expand into assessments, workshops, and structured programs over time, broadening both clinical range and earning potential
  • Training support for specialized modalities and certifications
  • A performance bonus recognizing strong delivery and caseload growth
  • Strong virtual flexibility, extending your reach across Alberta and beyond as our virtual service launches
  • Full administrative support through Jane App: booking, billing, intake, and payments handled for you
  • Marketing support including dedicated biography and service pages
  • Flexible scheduling across a seven day operating week
  • A collaborative, multidisciplinary, inclusive team

To Apply

Submit your resume with a short note on the communities you serve best and the frameworks that guide your affirming practice. Applications without the note will not be prioritized.

Pay: $130.00-$160.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule

Application question(s):

  • Are you currently registered and in good standing as a Registered Psychologist, Registered Provisional Psychologist, or Registered Clinical Social Worker with the applicable Alberta regulator?
  • Do you have direct clinical experience serving newcomer, immigrant, or LGBTQ+ clients as a defined focus of your practice, rather than as occasional cases within a general caseload?
  • Do you provide clinical services fluently in a language other than English that is relevant to Calgary's newcomer communities?

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Calgary, AB T2H 2G4
