Serve Up Summer Memories on Lake William!
Since 1943, Camp Kadimah has been the cherished summer home for Jewish youth from Atlantic Canada and around the world. Nestled on the magnificent shores of Lake William in Nova Scotia, Camp Kadimah combines true Maritime hospitality with incredible ruach (spirit) to foster lifelong friendships and a deep connection to Jewish identity.
Aramark Canada is seeking Food Service Workers to join our team at Camp Kadimah from June - August! As a Food Service Worker, you’re at the heart of the Chadar (dining hall), keeping the energy high and the campers fed. From the excitement of the first day to the final campfire, you’ll be a part of the most legendary summer in Nova Scotia.
What You'll Do:
- Fuel the Fun: Assist in preparing food items and serving customers on the line with a focus on outstanding customer service.
- Safety First: Maintain a culture where safety is a value by following all personal hygiene, food temperature, and cross-contamination protocols.
- Kitchen Operations: Organize your workspace, use recipes for portion control, and adapt practices to meet specific dietary requirements.
- Stay Sharp: Clean and sanitize dishes, equipment, and kitchen areas according to established schedules and Aramark standards.
- Daily Excellence: Complete temperature logs, handle food samples, and use required PPE to ensure a safe environment for all.
What You Bring:
- Experience: experience in food service is an asset.
- Certifications: Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced) certifications; First Aid is an asset.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both supervised and unsupervised.
- Physical Readiness: Ability to stand for long periods, walk short and long distances, bend, twist, and push, pull, and lift an average of 12kg.
- Team Spirit: A genuine desire to provide excellent service and collaborate with your colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
The successful candidate will need to complete and pass a criminal background check and vulnerable sector search (VSS).
