Onsite Building Manager

Sunset Waterfront Resort – Kelowna, BC

Salary: $85,000+ per year, based on qualifications and experience
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Position Type: Full-Time

Sunset Waterfront Resort is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Onsite Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a large waterfront strata community in downtown Kelowna.

This position is ideal for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a high standard of building operations, works well independently, and can effectively coordinate with contractors, the Strata Council, and the Strata Management Company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the property.
  • Monitor and maintain building mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, service providers, and maintenance projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections of common property and building systems.
  • Respond to owner, resident, and contractor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Strata Council and Strata Manager to ensure the property is operated efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance planning and implementation.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports.
  • Obtain quotations and assist with the coordination of repairs and capital projects.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
  • Ensure the property is maintained in a clean, safe, and presentable condition.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Pool Operator Certification (required).
  • Previous experience in building operations, facilities management, property maintenance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, pumps, boilers, fire protection systems, and other building infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and basic computer applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergencies outside regular business hours.
