Full job description
The Royal Glenora Club is looking for experienced Banquet Servers and Bartenders to join our Food & Beverage team.
If you enjoy the energy of events, take pride in providing polished and professional service, and know how to make guests feel genuinely welcome, we would like to hear from you.
Our Banquet team provides food and beverage service for a wide variety of events, including weddings, corporate functions, member events, celebrations, receptions, meetings, and special events. No two events are exactly the same, making this a great opportunity for hospitality professionals who enjoy variety, teamwork, and a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for candidates with previous serving, banquet, restaurant, catering, or bartending experience who can confidently provide attentive service while managing the pace and changing priorities of an event.
What You'll Do
As a member of our Banquet team, you may work in both food and beverage service depending on your experience and the needs of each event.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide professional and attentive food and beverage service during banquet events.
- Set up event spaces, including tables, linens, place settings, glassware, buffets, beverage stations, and other event requirements.
- Serve plated meals, buffets, receptions, and beverage service according to event specifications and Club service standards.
- Set up, operate, and close banquet bars when assigned and qualified to do so.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with ProServe requirements.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and professionally to requests.
- Maintain awareness of event timing and work closely with Banquet Captains, culinary staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked service and bar areas throughout events.
- Assist with room changes, event transitions, and event breakdown.
- Handle guest questions or concerns professionally and involve a supervisor when appropriate.
- Follow responsible alcohol service, food safety, health and safety, and Club procedures.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-focused work environment.
What You Bring
We are looking for hospitality professionals who are comfortable working in a busy event environment and understand the importance of timing, presentation, and guest service.
- Previous experience in banquet service, restaurant serving, catering, or a similar hospitality environment is preferred.
- Previous bartending experience is strongly preferred for candidates interested in banquet bartending shifts.
- Current ProServe Certification is required for employees serving alcohol.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Professional, polished, and guest-focused approach to service.
- Ability to confidently manage multiple tables, guests, or service priorities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team during high-volume events.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow event and service specifications.
- Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision when required.
- Ability to remain professional and composed during busy service periods.
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based scheduling.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Why Join the Royal Glenora Club?
Located in Edmonton's river valley, the Royal Glenora Club offers a unique hospitality environment where our team provides service for members, guests, weddings, celebrations, corporate events, and special functions.
As part of our Banquet team, you'll enjoy:
- Hourly wage plus participation in gratuities
- A variety of events and styles of service
- Staff meals while working
- Employee food and beverage discounts
- Training and professional development opportunities
- Opportunities to gain experience in both banquet serving and bartending
- Opportunities for advancement within the Club's Food & Beverage team
- A professional, team-oriented work environment
The Right Fit
You'll be successful in this role if you are someone who notices what needs to be done and takes action. You understand that great banquet service is about more than delivering food and drinks—it's about timing, teamwork, attention to detail, and creating an experience that guests remember.
If you have hospitality experience, enjoy working events, and take pride in providing exceptional service, we encourage you to apply.
