Are you interested in joining a fast-paced culinary team with a wicked vinyl collection? The Ruby on Johnson is currently seeking a line cook for our restaurant in the Heart of downtown Victoria at 642 Johnson Street. The Ruby brings home-style cuisine to the plate with high-end techniques and a fun vibe. We are proud to be considered amongst the top breakfast places in Victoria and have recently been featured on Canada's premiere food show, The Big Food Bucket List. Job Summary

As the line cook, you will be stepping up to serve quality breakfast and lunch items at our busy Johnson Street location. Putting together tasty meals and working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment, the line cook is an exceptional position for high-energy team members, and those who have a passion for serving tasty food. In addition to preparing meals, the line cook is required to complete opening, and closing duties depending on the timing of shifts. Additional duties will include food prep, as all of our food, including sauces and an in-house dry-aging Steak program is from scratch. As a central figure to our team, the line-cook is vital to our success, and for satisfying hungry guests who crave some tasty eats.

Qualifications

  • Line cooking experience an asset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have good taste in music

Requirements:

  • Ability to work 35+ hours per week
  • Ability to work early mornings.
  • Bondable

Salary/Perks:

  • Wage $20-$21/hr depending on skill and experience.
  • Benefits package offered to employees after 6 months.
