Micromatter Technologies Inc. is a specialized research and development company focused on advanced measurement science and analytical technologies. Our work supports environmental, material, and biomedical applications through precise and innovative measurement solutions.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Metrologist to join our research and development team. This role focuses on developing and refining advanced measurement techniques using XRF and/or ICP technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research and play a key role in improving measurement accuracy and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop measurement systems, units, and standards ensuring accuracy and traceability
  • Evaluate and improve calibration systems and procedures
  • Design and fabricate certified reference standards for XRF applications
  • Develop processes for thin metal foil fabrication (e.g., vapor deposition, sputtering)
  • Integrate advancements in XRF analytical methods into ongoing research
  • Analyze data, assess measurement uncertainty, and improve laboratory performance
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and quality control teams
  • Present research findings internally and at scientific conferences
  • Supervise technicians and oversee testing, calibration, and data analysis
  • Lead installation, testing, and troubleshooting of complex systems
  • Perform trend analysis and support product development decisions

Qualifications

  • PhD in X-ray spectroscopy or related field
  • Minimum 2 years post-PhD research experience in calibration and measurement science
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics, physics, and XRF instrumentation
  • Proven expertise in X-ray analytical techniques
  • High attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with design and simulation tools
