What you’ll do As a Driver - DZ, you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the road and working directly with customers to collect recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
Your day-to-day:

  • Drive a Rear Packer, Roll-Off, Straight Truck, and/or Pick-up Truck to customer locations to collect recyclable materials
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report equipment defects or damage
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and maintaining a clean work area at customer sites
  • Accurately complete route sheets, work orders, scale tickets, mileage reports, and logbooks
  • Operate truck-specific equipment safely, including loading, unloading, switching, and securing containers and bins
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and transported according to company and regulatory requirements
  • Follow all safety procedures while maintaining a clean and environmentally responsible operation

Your strengths as a Driver - DZ You are a natural fit for this role if:

  • You hold a valid DZ Driver’s License with air brake endorsement
  • You have experience in recycling, waste management, transportation, or a related industry
  • You are highly organized and able to manage your time effectively throughout the day
  • You have a strong customer service mindset and communicate professionally with clients and coworkers
  • You have good knowledge of Ottawa and surrounding areas
  • You are comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • You pay close attention to detail and can accurately handle weights, measures, and documentation
