The Opportunity
We’re proud to be one of the largest ferry operators in the world, serving customers safely and efficiently for more than 60 years. We’re looking for a key member of our Brand & Customer Experience team who shares a passion for BC’s coast and can support our continued growth.

As we evolve our brand and how we show up across customer touchpoints, we’re looking for a Specialist, Brand Strategy who combines strategic thinking, storytelling, and systems-building to help ensure our brand is applied consistently at scale. This role plays a key part in shaping how our brand is expressed—through what we say, how we look, and how the brand is applied across the organization.

To be successful in this role, you are a self-starter and collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are comfortable working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and solving problems, while contributing positively to a highly collaborative team.

The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Brand Strategy & Creative Services, you will:
  • Support the Manager in the development and execution of BC Ferries’ brand strategy and positioning with insight, research and performance tracking;
  • Support the Manager in championing our purpose, values, and brand across the organization;
  • Support the Manager in the development and execution of brand initiatives;
  • Partner with internal teams to apply brand strategy and standards effectively;
  • Collaborate with key divisional leads to help embed brand principles into BC Ferries' storytelling through all channels;
  • Design and implement brand management tools, training and resources to enable teams to adopt and apply brand systems effectively across the organization;
  • Support the internal and external communications and governance of BC Ferries brand;
  • Organize and lead development of supporting brand assets including photography and videography;
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and materials related to brand performance and initiatives;
  • Organize and attend meetings on behalf of the Manager and the department;

What you bring to the team
  • 4+ years of experience in brand strategy or brand management role
  • Demonstrated interest in branding, marketing and new media, transportation industry
  • Experience in brand management, project management, art direction and design
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling ability across multiple formats
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to think both strategically and systemically, with a focus on scalability and usability
  • Team player with a collaborative approach to the team and team responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High level of self-motivation
  • Proficiency in project management systems such as Asana
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Express)
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office software

Additional
information
The target salary range $83,500-$104,300 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity.
