Qualifications:
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of Pharmacy Operations Manager or team lead, the pharmaceutical labeler, ensures labels are placed on packages accurately and efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Print out labels for medications
- Ensure that labels are placed on the correct medication in a timely manner
- Assembles, labels and provides supplies as required under specific contracts
- Participates in quality assurance activities as directed
- Performs general housekeeping duties in the department on daily basis
- Files documents appropriately according to P&P’s
- Communicates appropriately with all members of the healthcare team.
- Participates in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance activities education programs and department/branch meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Certificates and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a fast paced environment which requires a high level of accuracy.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to understand basic medical terminology.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and must be able to perform basic algebraic calculations.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities
- organized and disciplined; basic computer skills.
Physical Demands
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to prepare packages for shipment, use computer and other equipment and reach with hands and arms.
- Vision requirements include close vision, colour vision, night vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting required as per employee capacity, employee must notify Supervisor regarding any health issues that may affect ability to lift
WORK ENVIORMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- The employee may be occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
- The employee occasionally works near moving parts
- The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate
