JCC Warriors Rep Basketball Coaches
Job Type: Part-Time Position
Wage: $25-$30hourly
Location: Prosserman JCC 4588 Bathurst Street, North York ON (Bathurst/Sheppard Area) and/or Schwartz/Reisman Centre (Bathurst/Rutherford Area)
Are you a passionate basketball coach ready to make a meaningful impact on the community?
Do you have experience coaching competitive youth teams? Are you committed to helping young athletes grow both on and off the court? We’re looking for dynamic Rep Basketball Coaches to lead our U9–U19 boys and girls teams for the upcoming 2025–2026 season.
Are YOU our next JCC Rep Basketball Coach?
Reporting to the JCC’s Technical Director, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional athlete experience and fostering a competitive, inclusive, and values-based team culture.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Planning and Running Practices: Lead two weekly practices with a focus on individual development, team play, and age-appropriate basketball curriculum.
- Game Day Coaching: Manage weekend games and tournaments as part of Ontario Basketball League (OBL), Coalition League, or CYBL (based on team level).
- Player Selection & Team Culture: Participate in tryouts and team selection; create a team environment grounded in respect, development, and accountability.
- Communication & Collaboration: Maintain open communication with players, families, and club leadership. Attend seasonal meetings, coaching workshops, and 2–3 club events per year.
- Support Club Vision: Align with club development plans while using your coaching voice and creativity to shape the team’s identity.
- Willing to assist: Demonstrates readiness and ability to support coaches as needed to ensure smooth operations.

- NCCP Certified
- Successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Previous experience coaching competitive (rep) teams is an asset
- Post-secondary playing experience is an asset
- Ability to lead with confidence, empathy, and high expectations
- Familiarity with Jewish values and community is an asset, but not required—we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive coaching staff
- Availability from September through August for practices, games, and select events
