Program Equipment and Facilities Manager

The Program Equipment and Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring our programs are equipped with the equipment they need to facilitate the delivery of Internships and Workshops. This role will also oversee the maintenance of Water First's vehicles, equipment and facilities to ensure safety and readiness under the direction of the Senior Director of Strategic Operations

Work Location: In-office - 10 Francis St, Creemore ON, L0M 1G0

Job Type: Permanent full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary range: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Program & Equipment Management:

  • Support program teams with equipment planning, procurement, inventory, and logistics.
  • Prepare, pack, ship, receive, and track program kits, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory systems and ensure equipment is clean, calibrated, organized, and operational.

Facilities Management:

  • Maintain safe, clean, secure facilities.
  • Manage service contracts and coordinate building, grounds, equipment, and HVAC maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and address repair, waste management, seasonal, and event-support requirements.
  • Complete general facilities tasks, including equipment assembly, pest control, and dump runs.

Fleet Vehicles Management:

  • Maintain vehicles, boats, and trailers to ensure safety, cleanliness, compliance, and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, licensing, insurance, and seasonal servicing.
  • Manage vehicle bookings, documentation, incident reporting, and fleet procedures.
  • Safely operate vehicles and trailers

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Joint Health and Safety (JH&S) Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, regulations, and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate across teams to support organizational objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning of Indigenous histories, cultures, and ways of being; model and promote this commitment across the organization.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented with expertise in building maintenance, fleet operations, and inventory software management.
  • Proven ability to coordinate service contracts, track diverse assets, and resolve operational issues efficiently while seamlessly supporting onsite event logistics and stakeholder communications.

Education and Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional training or certifications in facilities management or related fields

  • Water First’s standard operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm Eastern Time, with reasonable accommodations for flex-time.
