Full job description

At Canvas + Loft, we believe furniture is more than a product, it’s where life unfolds. Our mission is to be a trusted guide in creating homes filled with warmth, character, and belonging. We’re building a retail experience that feels personal, thoughtful, and unforgettable, not just a store, but a place where people feel genuinely cared for.

As we continue to grow, evolve, and raise the bar for the furniture experience, we’re looking for someone who shares our vision and takes pride in making every customer interaction exceptional.

The Role

We’re hiring a Sales Administrator — the person who ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes after the sale, from orders and payments to deliveries and the occasional unexpected hiccup.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and unflappable under pressure. You take quiet satisfaction in knowing that every detail has been handled and that a customer’s experience is seamless from checkout to doorstep.

If you enjoy coordinating moving parts, following detailed processes, solving problems, and turning customer concerns into positive experiences, we’d love to meet you!

Please note store hours are Monday-Friday 10am-8pm, Saturday 10am-6pm & Sunday 11am-5pm. Applicants must have flexibility to work weekends, and occasional evenings.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Processing customer orders and payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Supporting customers with post-purchase questions, order updates, and concerns.
  • Communicating furniture timelines and coordinating smooth out-of-town deliveries.
  • Managing customer appreciation mailings and ensuring showroom refreshments are well maintained.
  • Working closely with the sales team to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Keep everything organized and accurate, with a close eye on the details.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure a positive customer experience.

Who You Are

  • You’re friendly, empathetic, and naturally enjoy helping people.
  • You’re highly organized, detail-oriented, and take pride in getting things right.
  • You remain calm and focused under pressure, even when challenges arise.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You’re comfortable with computer systems and quick to learn new tools and processes.
  • You take initiative and look for small ways to make the whole process run better.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment, critical thinking, and independent decision-making.
  • You take ownership of your responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and anticipate potential issues before they become problems.
  • You have experience in a similar retail, administrative, or customer service role.

Bonus If You Have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary education.
  • Experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms.
  • Experience coordinating multi-step logistics, deliveries, or order fulfillment.
  • Strong conflict-resolution and customer-service skills.
  • Experience working in furniture, home furnishings, or another detail-oriented retail environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.

Why Join Canvas + Loft

  • Be part of building a brand focused on meaning, connection, and elevated living.
  • Help redefine what furniture retail can feel like for families and their homes.
  • Work in a creative, fast-moving environment where ideas are welcomed and initiative is valued.
  • Enjoy competitive benefits and a discount on in-home furniture.
  • Explore opportunities for growth and advancement as the business evolves.

Application Deadline: Friday, November 13

Benefits:

  • Company events
  • Dental care
  • Disability insurance
  • Extended health care
