Location: Remote (Canada)

Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with SKM PowerTools expertise to support the design of electrical systems for hyperscale and AI data centres across the United States and Canada. This is a remote role within an innovative international engineering firm recognized for its mission-critical infrastructure work.

As an SKM-focused Electrical Engineer, you will perform power system modeling, analysis, and design using SKM PowerTools, ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe electrical systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality electrical designs for complex mission-critical facilities.

What You Will Do

  • Perform electrical system design and analysis using SKM PowerTools
  • Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, and reliability studies
  • Design and model MV/LV power distribution systems, UPS systems, standby generators, and grounding systems
  • Prepare engineering calculations, one-line diagrams, and detailed design documentation
  • Develop design criteria, technical specifications, and engineering reports
  • Coordinate electrical designs with multidisciplinary BIM teams
  • Review shop drawings for compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards
  • Support construction administration, site visits, and commissioning activities as required

What We Expect

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in mission-critical, industrial, utility, or large commercial projects
  • Strong proficiency with SKM PowerTools (ETAP or EasyPower experience is considered an asset)
  • Knowledge of MV/LV electrical distribution systems, UPS systems, generators, and redundancy concepts
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, CSA, and other applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and CAD software
  • Understanding of ductbank ampacity/heat (Neher-McGrath) studies is considered an asset
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Authorization to work in Canada
