Full job description

Walter’s Landscaping is looking for a Landscape Designer to join our team.

We are a family-owned landscape company that has been building custom residential landscapes across the GTA for over 70 years. Our projects include front entrances, patios, walkways, driveways, gardens, retaining walls, outdoor living spaces, and full property transformations.

This role is mainly design-focused, but it is not a desk-only position. We want someone who can create great landscape designs in DynaSCAPE, support our sales team, and also spend some time in the field helping our crews when needed.

The best designers understand how things are actually built.

What the Role Looks Like

This position is roughly:

70% design
30% project, office, and field support

Most of your time will be spent preparing landscape designs, revisions, planting plans, and client presentation drawings using DynaSCAPE.

The rest of the time may include helping with site measurements, organizing project information, assisting with quote packages, or supporting our construction crews in the field when needed.

The field side is important. It gives you a better understanding of grades, materials, access, planting, layout, and what actually works on site.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience using DynaSCAPE
  • Enjoys residential landscape design
  • Is creative, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Can support the sales team with design work and revisions
  • Is willing to help in the field when needed
  • Wants to learn how high-quality landscapes are actually built
  • Works well with a team

We are open to a junior designer with the right attitude and DynaSCAPE experience, or someone more experienced who can work more independently.

Assets

  • Planting knowledge
  • Site measuring/layout experience
  • Landscape construction experience
  • Valid G driver’s licence

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
