Full job description

This is a hands-on production role best suited to someone who is comfortable working independently in a studio environment, managing a high volume of product photography, and taking images through the full process from capture to final retouched asset.

What You’ll Do:

  • Photograph products for e-commerce across our footwear, apparel and accessory categories. Set up and operate studio lighting, camera equipment, backgrounds, and related photography equipment
  • Follow established lighting, composition, cropping, and image standards to maintain consistency across the site
  • Style and position product accurately and consistently for photography
  • Capture multiple required angles, details, and product views according to shot lists and e-commerce guidelines
  • Review images throughout the shoot to ensure focus, exposure, colour, positioning, and overall quality are correct
  • Retouch imagery for final e-commerce use, including but not limited to:
    • Colour correction and color matching
    • Exposure and tonal adjustments
    • Background cleanup
    • Dust, marks, and minor product imperfections
    • Reshaping and comping
    • Cropping, alignment, and image consistency
    • Basic compositing or cleanup when required
  • Prepare, name, organize, and export final assets and product image folders according to established file specifications and naming conventions
  • Manage photography and editing efficiently to meet agreed-upon deadlines and asset volumes
  • Flag product, photography, or asset issues proactively when they may impact final deliverables and timelines
  • Collaborate with the Creative team to incorporate feedback and maintain evolving brand standards

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in e-commerce, product, or commercial photography
  • Strong product photography portfolio, ideally including footwear, apparel, accessories, or consumer products
  • Strong understanding of studio lighting and consistent lighting setups
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Capture One and/or Lightroom
  • Strong retouching skills with an eye for natural, polished, commercially appropriate results
  • Excellent understanding of color correction and image consistency, with experience using a colour checker to ensure accurate and consistent product colour across images
  • High attention to detail, particularly when working across large volumes of similar assets
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own workflow
  • Organized and reliable, with the ability to manage files, deadlines, and multiple products at once
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing image quality or consistency
  • Comfortable receiving and implementing creative feedback
  • Familiarity with tethered shooting workflows
  • Experience working in a fast-paced in-house brand or retail studio
  • Basic knowledge of studio equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Experience with high-volume product photography and batch editing workflows
  • Must have your own professional camera equipment, including camera body, appropriate lenses, SD/memory cards, batteries, chargers, and other standard photography essentials required for a shoot
  • Must be experienced and comfortable working with a tethered photography setup, including connecting to and shooting directly into Capture One or a similar tethering workflow
  • Comfortable troubleshooting basic camera, tethering, lighting, and studio equipment issues independently
  • Must be comfortable working with water during shoots, including tossing or pouring water on products, creating splashes and puddles, and simulating rain or wet conditions as needed for product photography.
  • Comfortable working in a studio environment where photography equipment may be used in proximity to controlled water and rain setups, while following appropriate equipment and studio safety practices
