Senior Specialist, Abilities & Wellness Management

A brand-new role for the organization! Join a dynamic and fast paced organization while supporting our talent across Alberta and British Columbia in all thing’s disability management, wellness and health and safety!

The Senior Specialist is a key contributor and advocates for a healthy, safe and progressive workplace culture across Cam Clark Auto Group. This position is the central connection for abilities management, workplace accommodation, benefits, health, safety and wellness. This senior level position will ensure consistent, fair, and effective delivery of services across CCAG, while serving as the point for complex and high‑risk cases. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with legislation, collective agreements, and organizational policies, and contributes to program development, continuous improvement, and initiatives that support employee well‑being and sustainable return‑to‑work outcomes.

What you can expect to do and be responsible for:

  • This role supports the wellbeing of colleagues through effective case management, disability and return‑to‑work coordination, WCB administration, benefits oversight, health and safety reporting, and proactive wellness programming.
  • You will play a key role in supporting a safe and healthy work environment and act as a trusted resource to leaders and colleagues on workplace injury management, accommodations, leaves, and benefit‑related matters.
  • The role is a balance of strategy and operations. It’s highly confidential in nature, and suits a professional with strong experience in health, safety, wellness, disability, and benefits administration in a complex environment that is Canada and US based.
  • We will need you to provide consultation, oversight, and program guidance for occupational and non-occupational disability claims, accommodations, and return-to-work as well as adjudicate complex cases.
  • Provides oversight and guidance to leadership to ensure consistent practices and service standards.
  • Oversee delivery of ability management services and ensure consistency in practices.
  • Provide consultation on process development and implementation aligned with case-management and operational best practices.
  • Drive employee engagement and service excellence within ability claims, emphasizing client satisfaction and employee-centered outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures to ensure consistent practice of ability claims.
  • Oversee temporary and permanent accommodation processes, including planning, implementation, and coordination of return-to-work programs.
  • Provide reporting and insights to leadership on claims activity, outcomes, risks, and program performance.
  • Support initiatives that improve service delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance client and employee experience.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships to ensure corporate wide acceptance of wellness strategy.
  • Develop and support wellness programs, workshops, and initiatives.
  • Oversee the development, communication, and implementation of occupational health, safety, and wellness programs and initiatives
  • Develop, coordinate, and promote colleague wellness initiatives designed to reduce workplace injury and illness and support overall employee wellbeing.
  • Co‑chair the Health & Safety Committee and support meeting planning, documentation, and follow‑up actions.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external partners relating to workplace health, benefits, WCB, disability, pension, and wellness support services.
  • Support leaders with workplace injury response, disability accommodation, modified work planning, and prevention initiatives.

What will you bring to Cam Clark Auto Group:

  • Post‑secondary education in related fields such as Health Sciences, Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Disability Management.
  • Professional designations such as CEBS, CDMP, CRTWC or CRSP are considered an asset.
  • Certification in wellness coaching, health education, or a related field may be an advantage.
  • Completed and facilitated The Working Mind, Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Intervention Skills training, and Critical Incident Stress Management training, considered an asset.
  • 6+ years extensive experience in disability/abilities management, including complex case adjudication and accommodations in a non and unionized environments.
  • Experience participating in grievances, mediations, and arbitrations related to disability and accommodation matters.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of disability and abilities management frameworks, occupational and non-occupational claims, WCB, STD, LTD, WorkSafe BC, and human rights legislation; experience with US medical insurance, US led brokers, OHSA.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program oversight, policy and process development, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to oversee program delivery, mentor team members, and foster a culture of service excellence and engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict, influence outcomes, and support employee-centered return-to-work solutions.
  • Ensure all health, safety, wellness, disability, and benefits administration is managed in compliance with legislation, policy, and internal processes.
