Reporting to the Induction Maintenance Crew Leader, the Induction Maintenance Lead Hand will work alongside the existing Maintenance Lead Hand and will collectively be responsible for supervision and guidance of AME’s, personnel allocation, and scheduling. Independently, the Lead Hand may be required to manage their own maintenance projects.

Able to work under varying supervision on aircraft undergoing conversion to Air Tankers, including heavy maintenance, troubleshooting and major component replacements. Able to operate independently and exercise good judgment. This position is based in Abbotsford.

In this role your duties will include the following:

  • Lead a team of AME’s in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on aircraft undergoing Air Tanker conversion.
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft systems, components, and structures.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and support to maintenance technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs performed.
  • Collaborate with the Induction Maintenance Crew Leaders to develop maintenance schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with Conair policies & procedures and Transport Canada Requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, and components;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with demonstrated leadership capabilities;
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, drawings, and schematics;
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities;
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement;
  • Ability to act with professionalism;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Training/Education:

  • Holder of Transport Canada AME M2 License
  • Successful completion of an AME category M training course from a Transport Canada Approved Training Organization.
  • Q400 type training and experience considered an asset.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Pay: $55.61-$59.54 per hour
