Full job description

Family Practice, located in New Westminster and Coquitlam, led by experienced Family Physicians who are seeking more Medical Office Assistants to join our clinic.

We are looking for experienced individuals with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our team and learn processes and workflows efficiently! Successful candidates will be required to work at both clinic locations as needed.

POSITION BRIEF: 1 FT & 1 PT Position

  • 2 year MOA experience is required
  • Myle EMR is an asset
  • MOA certificate is preferred

MOA RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES; BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Triaging telephone calls with confidence and professionalism
  • Booking/scheduling appointments
  • Managing referrals and chart set up in Myle EMR
  • Greeting patients and escorting them to rooms
  • Using the POS machine
  • Scanning / Importing results into patient's charts
  • E-Faxing prescriptions
  • Third Party requests: Insurance companies, Lawyers, chart transfers
  • Emailing patients lab requisitions, sick notes etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from a recognized MOA program preferred
  • Works well independently as well as in a team environment
  • Good working relationship with their colleagues, office manager and physicians
  • Friendly and kind towards patients
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills

Wage: Starting at $21/hr.

Benefits: Medical and Dental coverage after 3 months of employment
