Job Description
Do you have a heart for serving others and the skills to help teams succeed? Are you passionate about connecting people, building teams, and making an impact beyond borders? Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) is seeking an organized individual to join our Programs and Projects Department as a Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) Readiness Coordinator.
Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian international relief organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. One of the ways Samaritan’s Purse Canada has had open doors to share the gospel is through the shoe box gift program of Operation Christmas Child.
As the DART Readiness Coordinator, you will help prepare and mobilize DART members and International Field Staff (IFS) to serve in disaster response efforts around the world. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and deployment while managing the DART roster and coordinating placements to meet emergency response, field office, and technical support needs. This position works closely with the International Disaster Response Unit and Human Resources team to ensure our teams are ready to respond when needed most.
The successful candidate will fulfill a full-time permanent position in the Calgary head office. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package, including life insurance, medical/dental and short-term/long-term disability, RRSP contributions after one year of employment, and 15 vacation days per year to start.

- In collaboration with IHQ Member Care, participates in periodic meetings to promote and ensure the holistic care and support of the IFS and DART members
- Maintains an overall knowledge of all Samaritan's Purse projects and activities in order to respond to general inquiries
- Acts as the primary point of contact for staff support and wellness
- Represents SPC at community, church, and networking events to bolster awareness of the DART and assist with recruitment efforts/growth of the roster
- Leads the research, design, review, and dissemination of internally and externally developed support resources such as toolkits and trainings to IFS and DART members
- Conduct debriefs for returning staff, document feedback, learnings, and performance
- Develops, plans, and facilitates all engagement activities for the SPC DART

- Strong customer service/communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to travel internationally
Additional Requirements:
- Valid passport and freedom to travel internationally with no restrictions
- Valid Driver’s License
- Criminal Background Check
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required, especially during active deployments and emergency response operations
Risk Acknowledgement:
"At Samaritan’s Purse Canada (the “Organization”) the nature of our work may from time to time introduce demands that may impact the physical, spiritual, and psychological disposition of our team members. While the Organization strives to mitigate risk for our team members, some roles¬, particularly those involving emergency response, may expose individuals to real physical dangers or threats of danger and a range of challenging circumstances. Recognizing these realities and building on our learning from over 50 years of ministry, the organization works to provide a supportive environment, focused on caring for the health and well-being of our people."
Note: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
