We’re Hiring: Accounts Receivable Specialist (Patient Billing Focus) – Hamilton, ON

As we continue to grow at Hamilton Dental, we’re looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and enjoys bringing structure, organization, and clarity to billing and collections.

This role is centered around patient billing and accounts receivable, ensuring balances are managed accurately and professionally, while supporting the overall flow of the clinic.

About the Role

  • Full-time hybrid opportunity; 40 hours a week
  • Core working hours: 9 am - 4 pm, weekdays
  • Compensation: $23-32/hr depends on the candidate's experience
  • Location: 50 Dundurn St S Unit 106, Hamilton, ON L8P 4W3

What You’ll Be Doing

Accounts Receivable & Patient Billing (Primary Focus)

  • Take ownership of patient and insurance accounts receivable
  • Follow up on outstanding balances in a timely, professional manner
  • Submit, track, and reconcile insurance claims and payments
  • Ensure accurate billing and maintain up-to-date financial records
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding balances, coverage, and payment options
  • Support day-end and month-end reporting processes (as required)

Administrative & Clinic Support (As Needed)

  • Communicate treatment plans, insurance details, and out-of-pocket costs
  • Maintain accurate patient records within the practice management system
  • Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Support front desk responsibilities when required

What You Bring

  • Experience in dental administration, billing, or accounts receivable (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes and dental billing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ClearDent or similar software is an asset

  • Has the ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities throughout the day, balancing patient interactions, follow-ups, and administrative work
  • Brings a team-first mindset, with a willingness to support others and collaborate across roles
  • Communicates with confidence—clear, professional, and empathetic, especially when discussing financial matters
  • Maintains a calm, friendly, and solution-oriented approach in all situations
