#BeExtraordinary

At Andrew Peller Limited (APL), our mission is to be Canada’s #1 branded wine and
craft beverage company by delivering the perfect brand experience for every
lifestyle and occasion. Through our commitment to excellence, honouring our
roots, owning it, fostering belonging and driving to succeed, we inspire teammates to be extraordinary every day.

Who We Are
We are one of Canada's largest and oldest wine companies with a rich heritage in quality winemaking.
We produce some of Canada's most recognized brands and offer our teammates a challenging and rewarding employment experience.

We are looking for a skilled Red Seal Millwright to join our team at our Calona Wines/Sandhill Winery facility in downtown Kelowna.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of facility and production equipment, including pumps, conveyors, presses, and packaging lines. Your expertise will play an important role in keeping our production lines running efficiently, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and productive workplace.

This is a hands-on role working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with rotating shifts and additional flexibility required during our busy fall harvest season.

What this teammate will be responsible for

  • Operate, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot facility and production equipment, including pumps, conveyors, presses, and packaging lines

  • Maintain and troubleshoot packaging lines to support production efficiency and minimize downtime

  • Support the Packaging and Maintenance teams in resolving time-sensitive equipment and line issues

  • Perform quality checks and accurately record daily production and maintenance information

  • Maintain plant utility equipment, including air compressors, hot and cold water systems, and glycol systems

  • Use continuous improvement tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis to support proactive maintenance and operational improvements

  • Participate in the planning and execution of plant projects and preventative maintenance initiatives

  • Complete daily production paperwork, shift logs, work orders, and equipment tracking documentation

  • Participate in equipment tracking and work order systems

  • Support the company’s Health & Safety Program and comply with EH&S regulations and requirements

  • Follow HACCP requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

  • Work collaboratively with the broader Packaging and Maintenance teams to achieve production targets and maintain a safe, efficient operation

What this teammate will bring

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright Certification

  • Previous experience in a beverage packaging or GMP manufacturing environment is preferred

  • Experience with pumps, process control equipment, PLCs, and manufacturing plant maintenance is an asset

  • Dual ticket qualifications are an asset

  • Valid scissor lift/boom lift and forklift certifications are assets

  • HRAI environmental awareness related to CFC/HCFC/HFC control is an asset

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • A self-motivated and organized approach, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision

  • Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow HACCP, GMP, EH&S, and other required procedures

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Schedule

This position works a rotating Monday–Friday schedule, with shifts changing every two weeks:

  • 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

  • 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

Occasional weekend and off-shift work may be required, particularly during the fall harvest season.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining a team where skilled trades play an important role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently. This is an opportunity to bring your technical expertise to a dynamic production environment while contributing to continuous improvement and the quality of the products we’re proud to make.

This is a unionized position. #APSJ
