Full job description

Social Media & Brand Storytelling Lead Orca Spirit Adventures | Victoria, BC | Full-Time

About the Role

Orca Spirit Adventures - Victoria's original whale watching company - is looking for a creative, camera-ready storyteller to lead our social media and content presence. This is a hands-on production role with real creative ownership, built for someone early in their career who's hungry to grow.

You'll be on the water regularly, capturing whale encounters, crew moments, and wildlife experiences that stop people mid-scroll. You'll edit and post, manage our channels, write in our brand voice, and occasionally appear on camera as a brand ambassador.

What You'll Do

  • Capture photo and video content onboard tours and company events
  • Edit and produce short-form and long-form video for social platforms
  • Manage content calendar and posting schedule across all channels
  • Write captions and develop storytelling themes aligned with our brand
  • Monitor engagement and respond to audience inquiries
  • Track performance metrics and recommend growth strategies
  • Appear on camera as a brand ambassador when appropriate
  • Collaborate with our digital advertising lead on campaigns and creative assets
  • Support in-house sales with digital assets and promotional materials
  • Assist local concierge and commission partners with updated marketing content
  • Work closely with crew to highlight authentic onboard experiences
  • Collaborate with leadership on brand growth initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience in photo and video production
  • Strong short-form vertical video skills - Reels, TikTok-style content, and YouTube Shorts are central to this role
  • Comfortable appearing on camera and engaging with guests and crew
  • Experience managing social media for a brand or organization
  • Comfortable working onboard vessels in a marine environment
  • Self-directed, organized, and proactive

What We Offer

  • $28 to $30 per hour, full-time salaried position
  • Overtime or lieu time eligibility
  • A working environment most people only visit on vacation
  • Creative ownership from day one
  • A subject matter - orcas, humpbacks, the Salish Sea - that will make your portfolio genuinely stand out

To Apply

Send your resume, a brief intro, and links to any relevant work or social accounts you've managed.
