Position: Social Media Marketing Coordinator

Company Overview

Since 1986, Clipper has provided marine transportation from Seattle, WA to Victoria, BC, creating amazing memories for travelers locally and around the world. We operate Seattle's iconic Victoria Clipper high-speed catamaran ferry offering a unique getaway and partnering with hotels and sightseeing activities. We also offer seasonal whale and sea life excursions departing from downtown Seattle. In 2016, Clipper became a proud part of the FRS Group, an international maritime company with headquarters in Germany.

Position Overview:

The Successful Candidate:

Summary of Key Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

  • Own and manage all organic social media operations, including planning, creating, and publishing content.

o Ensure all social content aligns with brand guidelines.

o Identify opportunities for the social media channels to jump on new trends to drive engagement.

o Stay up-to-date with Seattle and Victoria attractions and events as well as the latest Seattle-area whale and wildlife sightings of note.

o Ensure that social channels reflect priority projects and messages as set forth by leadership.

o Ensure key partners are featured in social channels regularly and in compelling ways.

o Where needed, provide context and training on social media marketing execution and best practices to internal stakeholders

o Manage daily community engagement.

  • Lead influencer marketing, proactively identifying and implementing new partnerships with a positive ROI; maintain a database of contacts for future campaigns.
  • Build a library of evergreen content available for social, website, and broadcast. Content should be both personally sourced and gathered in partnership with coworkers, influencers, industry partners, freelancers/agencies, and guests.
  • Act as the lead POC for our paid social agency to drive bar-raising social creative, testing/data analysis, and campaign approvals.
  • Monitor and analyze key marketing metrics and support weekly reporting.
  • Lead projects that underline brand messages and give our guests reasons to travel.
  • Collaborate internally to ensure website content aligns with and amplifies other digital content.
  • Represent FRS Clipper at local events as needed.
  • Execute on other special assignments designated by marketing leadership.
  • Travel possible, must be eligible to work in Canada

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • 2+ years of marketing experience (travel and tourism experience preferred) with knowledge of content marketing strategy and best practices.
  • Proficiency using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop
  • Proficiency using MS office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint & MS Teams
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other social media best practices.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on turning insights into action.
  • Excellent relationship, partner, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with photographers, videographers, agencies, and external partners (preferred)
  • Ability to travel internationally is preferred.

Job Type: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $28 per hour, plus eligible for the company Annual Incentive Program
