Summary

Atlas Pest and Wildlife Control invites you to explore a unique career path as a Bird & Wildlife technician.

If you are handy, enjoy solving puzzles, and prefer working outdoors rather than indoors, this role may be a great fit for you. As an essential service, our work spans a vast array of locations, including restaurants, warehouses, healthcare facilities, transportation hubs, factories, waste management, and fuel suppliers. We also service residential homes and apartments, retail shops, and more!

A typical day for our Bird & Wildlife technicians is dynamic and engaging. Jobs are assigned via a mobile app, and you will drive a company vehicle directly from home to your first job site. Whether working independently or as part of a team, our technicians execute action plans to address issues involving rodents, raccoons, moles, skunks, birds, wasps, and other wildlife.

Compensation and Benefits

- Earnings: Base salary of CA$875.00-CA$1,000.00 per week to start with yearly raises during performance reviews. Additional opportunities for commissions on work completed, sales leads, well as performance bonuses and internal contests are available to increase your pay.

Responsibilities at each location include:

- Communicating treatment details to building managers, occupants, staff and homeowners through onsite discussions and written reports.

- Install bird control systems (netting, spikes, wire systems, deterrents)

- Set up and monitor traps in accordance with regulations.

- Use power tools.

- Inspecting for points of entry and implementing exclusion methods.

- Prepare service reports and document findings with photos and notes.

- Apply commercial-grade pesticides.

- Performing roof work using ladders, fall protection, and aerial lifts (scissor, boom, or van lifts).

What do you need to get started?

- Licensing: A valid Class 5 BC Driver's license and a responsible ICBC driver's abstract.

- Education: A Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.

- A criminal record check is a requirement for this position.

- Physical Requirements: The ability to perform physical tasks such as crouching, lifting, and navigating roofs, attics, and crawlspaces.

- Work Conditions: The ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, work independently and as part of a team.

- Communication: A strong command of written and verbal in English for effective client interactions.

- Organizational skills: Ability to manage your schedule while completing work in a timely fashion and travelling throughout the Lower Mainland with minimal supervision.

- Basic mechanical aptitude: Comfort using tools such as such as tin snips, power drills, caulking guns and shovels.

Experience in roofing, construction, fabrication, or similar field work is advantageous. Prior experience in the pest control industry specifically is not required to join our team. All new hires receive comprehensive, hands-on instruction through our in-house training program. Facilitated by our management and technical staff, this program is designed to fully prepare you for a rewarding career in this industry.

Schedule and Location

- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with overtime opportunities available.

- Office: Located in Coquitlam for initial training and supply stocking.

- Work Area: Atlas serves clients across the entirety of the lower mainland including North Shore & Downtown Vancouver, Richmond, Delta, Burnaby, Surrey, Langley, the Tri-Cities and the Fraser Valley. Wildlife technicians will travel amongst these areas.

Equipment and Support

- Transportation: Company vehicle provided with a gas card; all maintenance and repair costs are covered.

- Company cell phone, uniforms, PPE, and all necessary tools are provided.

- Training: All in-house training and required certification programs are fully funded by the company.
