Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager / Leader to lead complex I&IT projects within a Government of Ontario environment.

Must-Have Skills

  • 10+ years of project management experience

  • Strong knowledge of PMBOK methodology and project management best practices

  • Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and practices

  • Knowledge of AODA standards and accessibility compliance requirements

  • Experience managing project monitoring, issue resolution, risks, dependencies, and governance

  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships, expectations, and executive-level communications

  • Experience identifying and resolving conflicts across project and functional teams

  • Ability to recommend software, hardware, and technology acquisition strategies

  • Experience with public sector or OPS project delivery is strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of complex I&IT projects within scope, schedule, and budget

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, integrated project plans, and delivery roadmaps

  • Facilitate business process change, transformation initiatives, and adoption planning

  • Plan and manage project delivery using Agile, Digital, and traditional project management approaches

  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, financial controls, risks, issues, and mitigation activities

  • Manage stakeholder engagement across ministry teams, vendors, project teams, and executive leadership

  • Lead steering committees, governance forums, working groups, and stakeholder meetings

  • Provide executive-level reporting, portfolio updates, and project status communications

  • Coordinate project resources, onboarding, team activities, performance expectations, and delivery assignments

  • Manage vendor engagements, procurement-related activities, and technology acquisition support

  • Promote OPS project management methodologies, standards, tools, and best practices

  • Identify and resolve conflicts, dependencies, delivery risks, and project roadblocks

Required Experience

  • Senior-level project management experience in large, complex I&IT environments

  • Experience managing project governance, reporting, risks, issues, budgets, schedules, and resources

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, business teams, technical teams, vendors, and executives

  • Experience supporting procurement, vendor management, and technology acquisition activities

  • Experience with organizational change, business transformation, and process improvement initiatives

  • Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong understanding of accessibility, Information Management, and public sector delivery standards

Desirable Skills

  • Experience leading projects within the Ontario Public Service or broader public sector

  • Knowledge of OPS project management methodologies, standards, and governance processes

  • Experience with portfolio management, strategic planning, and organizational change

  • Experience supporting business planning, funding requests, and fiscal accountability

  • Experience working in Agile, Digital, hybrid, or waterfall delivery environments
