Head Coach / Skating Program Supervisor
Location: Multiple locations across Toronto and the GTA
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $60–$80 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

About SkatingHour
SkatingHour is a Learn-to-Skate program for children, teens, and adults across Ontario. We offer structured ice skating and roller-skating lessons in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment.
Our goal is to help skaters build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy learning without pressure.
About the Position
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Head Coach / Skating Program Supervisor to oversee our Learn-to-Skate programs at multiple locations across Toronto and the GTA.
This role is ideal for someone with previous experience as a:
- Head Coach
- Program Coordinator
- Program Supervisor
- Program Lead
- Recreation Program Head
- Skating School Supervisor
The Head Coach will support and supervise coaches, maintain lesson quality, oversee program delivery, and ensure that all sessions follow SkatingHour’s teaching and safety standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee Learn-to-Skate programs for children and adults
- Supervise, support, and guide skating coaches during sessions
- Ensure lesson plans and program standards are followed consistently
- Assign coaches and organize participants into suitable skill groups
- Observe coaching performance and provide constructive feedback
- Train and mentor new and existing coaches
- Monitor student progress and overall program quality
- Assist coaches with challenging situations or students requiring additional support
- Ensure all safety policies and facility rules are followed
- Complete session reports, coach evaluations, and program feedback
- Communicate program updates, staffing concerns, and operational issues to the SkatingHour management team
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and organized learning environment
- Be available to travel between program locations when required
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong ice skating, roller skating, or inline skating ability
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role of 2 yrs and above
- Experience as a program coordinator, program supervisor, program head, head coach, or similar position is strongly preferred
- Experience coaching children, teens, or adults
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Confident managing coaches and participants during busy sessions
- Patient, dependable, energetic, and professional
- Able to provide clear instructions and constructive feedback
- Reliable and punctual
- Willingness to complete a background check
- Having a valid driver’s licence and access to a car is strongly preferred
- Must be willing and able to travel between different Toronto and GTA program locations
