About the Role

A new discount retail store in Milton is looking for friendly, dependable and customer-focused Part-Time Retail Sales Associates to join its team.

The successful candidates will support customers, process purchases, stock merchandise and help maintain a clean, organized and welcoming store. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and is comfortable in a busy retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, helpful service
  • Assist customers in locating products and answering general questions
  • Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, debit and credit transactions
  • Stock shelves, organize merchandise and replenish products as required
  • Receive, unpack and label incoming merchandise
  • Set up product displays and promotional areas
  • Maintain clean and organized shelves, aisles, checkout areas and stockrooms
  • Monitor merchandise and report low inventory or damaged products
  • Respond professionally to customer questions, concerns and requests
  • Follow store policies related to customer service, cash handling, health and safety, and loss prevention
  • Support opening and closing duties when scheduled
  • Work collaboratively with management and other team members
  • Complete other retail and store-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous retail, customer service or cashier experience is an asset
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Friendly, professional and dependable
  • Comfortable handling cash and using a point-of-sale system
  • Able to stay organized and manage multiple tasks
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn about store products and promotions
  • Reliable transportation to the Milton store location

Availability Requirements

Candidates must have flexible availability, including a combination of:

  • Mornings
  • Afternoons
  • Evenings
  • Weekends
  • Statutory holidays, when required

Preference may be given to candidates with open weekend availability.
