Full job description

Role Overview

We are hiring an AI Product Engineer to lead the design and delivery of AI-powered software products that sit on top of EION's wireless infrastructure. You will own the full stack — from data pipelines and ML models to production APIs and polished frontends — building tools that give EION's defense, enterprise, and government customers unmatched network intelligence.

You will work closely with the engineering lead and cross-functional stakeholders to ship fast, leverage cutting-edge AI tooling, and deliver reliable, scalable software in a security-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Powered Product Development

  • Design and ship AI-powered internal and customer-facing products end-to-end, from architecture to deployment.
  • Integrate LLMs (Azure OpenAI, Gemini, or equivalent) into product workflows for intelligent alerting, summarization, anomaly detection, and opportunity enrichment.
  • Lead a small team of engineers using modern AI-assisted development tooling (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to maximize velocity without sacrificing quality.

Full Stack Engineering

  • Build React-based frontends with responsive dashboards, dynamic chart components (time-series, donut, bar), and advanced filters for network and operational data visualization.
  • Develop backend services using FastAPI (Python) or Express (Node.js), exposing clean REST APIs consumed by internal teams and external partners.
  • Design and manage PostgreSQL and NoSQL (DynamoDB/MongoDB) schemas for operational and telemetry data.

Data Pipelines & Cloud Infrastructure

  • Architect and maintain cloud-native data pipelines on Azure (Data Factory, Azure Container Apps, ADLS) and AWS (Lambda, ECS Fargate, CDK) for real-time and batch processing.
  • Build synthetic and test data generation tooling across heterogeneous data sources (Oracle, SQL, APIs, PDFs) to support development and compliance workflows.
  • Design Medallion Architecture lakehouse pipelines (Bronze/Silver/Gold) on Databricks using Delta Live Tables and Autoloader for large-scale ingestion.

DevOps & Deployment

  • Own CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions, containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, and monorepo tooling with Turborepo.
  • Deploy and manage services on AWS ECS Fargate (CDK) and Azure Container Apps, ensuring high availability for government and defence workloads.
  • Implement RBAC, SSO (Entra ID), and multi-stage approval flows in compliance with federal and enterprise security requirements.

Platform Monitoring & Intelligence

  • Build real-time monitoring dashboards for EION wireless network assets (TeraLink, MobiLink LTE, Mesh WiFi, IoT devices), surfacing performance KPIs and anomaly signals.
  • Use ML frameworks (PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, PySpark) to develop classification and forecasting models on network telemetry and IoT sensor data.
  • Automate opportunity monitoring via third-party procurement platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, eBuy) using serverless functions enriched with AI.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience shipping full-stack AI-powered software products in production.
  • Experience working in or with government, defence, or regulated enterprise environments is a strong asset.

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or higher (or equivalent Azure certification).
  • Experience with CDC pipelines (OCI GoldenGate, Debezium, or similar).

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation with performance bonus tied to product delivery milestones.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Hybrid work model based out of Ottawa, ON (Suite 200, 50 Frank Nighbor Place).
  • Direct ownership of AI product roadmap with real autonomy and impact.
