Responsibilities:
· Building wireless sites on rooftops, lattice towers, guyed towers, and monopoles
· Installation/removal of telecommunications mounting structures, equipment, antennas, DC and fiber trunks, cable trays, and associated hardware.
· Utilize winches, capstan, and related hardware to move loads as required.
· Testing of DC and Fiber trunks/cables, identifying faults, and generating test results reports.
· Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working at heights and in various environmental conditions.
· Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve issues with wireless networks.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 year rigging experience in the telecommunication industry; climbing at heights of 100 meters (330 feet)
- Completion of secondary school is required.
· Proven understanding of and experience with telecommunications equipment, cables and hardware.
· Coax and Fiber testing, installation of RRUs and Antennas, Coax termination, DC powerlines, troubleshooting experience - Asset.
· Working knowledge in fall protection practice and procedures and tower rescue techniques.
· General construction experience - Asset
· Experience in rope access work, climbing tickets – Asset
· Willingness/availability to work overtime and/or weekends and travel out of town
· Use of mobile device applications.
