Maple Villa Long Term Care Centre is now looking for a casual, part-time Housekeeping Aide. Must be available to work weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) and evening shifts.

Previous experience cleaning in long term care is an asset.

Maple Villa operates as a Long-Term Care Centre since 1971, serving seniors and older adults of Halton region and surrounding areas. Client and Family Centred Care is co-designed to meet all aspects of the individual needs of our residents in a safe, home-like environment. The ownership, management & staff form a passionate, people-driven team. Our team strength is bonded by a dynamic partnership developed with our residents, their families and the community. Reports to the Environmental Team Lead.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strict adherence to infection control best practices for cleaning and disinfecting.
  • Clean and service assigned rooms and areas according to established standards and procedures including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash and this position includes floor care duties.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures and regulations while performing daily duties
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed by management (laundry, public areas, etc.)

Required Skills

  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience in housekeeping department.
  • Proven cleaning ability with full attention to details
  • Approachable, pleasant, polite, fast
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and products an asset
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision

Qualifications

  • Effective interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must be available weekends and evening shifts
  • Ability to work as a member of the team
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check and Two Step TB test within 6 months
