Patient Coordinator/Medical Office Assistant Required for Immediate Hire
Mon & Tues as needed 8:30am to 5:00pm / 1-2 days a week
$19.00 to $21.00 starting wage
We seek a friendly, organized, responsible and motivated medical office assistant (MOA) to join our after hours clinic team.
Working within a multiple physician (11) clinic performing a variance of daily duties such as maintaining appointments, records management and providing clerical, administrative support and reception functions. They will assist our clinic to effectively and efficiently serve patients on a daily. As the first point of phone or personal contact with patients, visitors and businesses, the MOA ensures that all are welcomed in a friendly, professional and supportive manner. The ideal candidate will work well in a very paced environment & can handle working under pressure.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Switchboard 1-7 lines, Telus Practice Solutions EMR experience a MUST, MS Windows, General office equipment, Electronic Mail
- Medical Office Administrator Diploma or 2 years experience in a health care setting.
- Experience in dealing with the public in a mature, patient and helpful manner
- Excellent telephone manners are a must.
- Courteous, polite and helpful to the public and clients; thus they should be able to manage the reception area efficiently, maintaining a proactive approach
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable
- Excellent communication skills and written skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Duties:
Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
Answering phones and directing inquires appropriately
The MOA is to schedule patient appointments for all practitioners’ patient visits.
Scanning of medical reports, sort incoming/outgoing mail
Organize schedule for doctor and organization of appointments as necessary.
Data Entry of new patient demographics and updating current patient demographics
Explaining the practice procedures to new patients.
Dealing with all requests in an efficient and courteous manner.
Maintaining a clean reception area to show a professional image.
Arranging for clinical nurses to check a patient’s blood pressure, height and weight.
Making sure that the appointment system runs smoothly.
Ensuring that all medical samples are correctly labelled.
Other duties as required.
