Valwell Technologies is seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering team focused on the design and development of surface equipment for the oil and gas industry. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical expertise, team development, and strategic execution.

About the Role

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and delivery of critical surface equipment including wellheads, valves, pumps, compressors, flare stacks, and heat transfer systems. You will play a key role in building a high-performing engineering department while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of oil & gas surface equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering growth, accountability, and technical excellence
• Establish and scale engineering processes, standards, and best practices
• Ensure designs meet applicable regulatory and industry standards (ABSA, API, and others)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, and leadership teams
• Oversee project execution from concept through fabrication and commissioning
• Drive continuous improvement in design efficiency, cost optimization, and product innovation
• Support client engagement and technical discussions as needed

Qualifications

• P.Eng designation in good standing (required)
• 8+ years of engineering experience in oil & gas surface equipment design
• Proven experience with ABSA requirements and API standards
• Strong technical background in equipment such as wellheads, valves, pumps, compressors, flare systems, and heat exchangers
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including building and developing engineering teams
• Experience establishing or growing an engineering department is a strong asset
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Pay: $120,000.00-$160,000.00 per year
