Sinai Health is looking for a Supervisor, Patient Food Services at Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Patient Food Services Supervisor, under the supervision of the Director of Support Services, is accountable for the supervision and efficient daily operation of the Main Kitchen, Ware Washing, Diet office, Tray Delivery and kosher areas.

The Patient Food Services Supervisor, under the supervision of the Director of Support Services, is accountable for the supervision and efficient daily operation of the Main Kitchen, Ware Washing, Diet office, Tray Delivery and kosher areas.
In this role you will:
- Supervise all main kitchen, dish room, diet office, tray delivery and kosher staff including, but not limited to, overseeing the main kitchen and kosher tray assembly, rethermalization and ware washing processes
- Replace and discipline staff as required, authorize overtime and time sheets
- Complete diet changes in CBORD diet office applications
- Prepare, maintain and distribute required reports
- Maintain inventory of all goods according to established standards
- Complete daily Food Store orders and supervise the rotation of food items
- Complete Quality Improvement audits
- Conduct monthly meetings, update job descriptions, cleaning procedures, complete employee performance appraisals
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required
Mandatory
- Successful completion of a college diploma in food and nutrition management or a related discipline from an accredited educational institution (CSNM or equivalent)
- 2 years of experience in a related field
- Applicants with proven equivalent and related training and experience may also be considered
- Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) certification or Safe Food Handlers Certificate
- Knowledge of quantity food preparation methods
- Proficiency in CBORD, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Strong leadership and coaching qualities with the ability to engage, motivate and lead small to large teams, resolve team conflicts and work collaboratively to achieve overarching department goals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to clearly define and articulate requirements, priorities, impacts, and solutions
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment with minimal direction
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; professional, diplomatic and confident with a proven ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
- Strong service orientation & ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
